How?

Research by De Doetank differs in method and results. The method is activating and participating. We do research with people, in stead of into people. People are being taken seriously and are involved in the research. Our philosophy is that if you want to learn from people, you will need to move along with them and experience what they experience. That’s why De Doetank uses research methods like participating observation, in-depth interviewing and action research.
The research results in knowledge, that can be translated to action. Preferably, this is new behaviour. Text and image can contribute to new behaviour, just as more experimental forms of action: an exposition, a play or social interventions. The results are never set at forehand, but flow forth from the research.
