De Doetank is a scientific and artistic research collective where young researchers work with each other in a creative way. It’s a cooperation between philosophers, legal experts, anthropologists and artists. De Doetank focusses on local social questions in an urban environment.

De Doetank takes the ideas that people have about their living environments as the starting point of research. Besides research and project development, De Doetank also supports initiatives developed by people that aren’t a part of De Doetank. De Doetank provides space for people to practice their ideas and ideals.

De Doetank is a tool to unlock closed doors and a crowbar to lift up solutions based on prejudices and preconceptions. De Doetank creates new space in the streets and minds of Dutch people and the houses and streets they live in.
